Our client, a well-established building services consultancy with a strong reputation for delivering innovative engineering solutions, is seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer
to join their Birmingham office. The practice works across multiple sectors including commercial, healthcare, education, and residential, and has an excellent track record of sustainable and energy-efficient design.
The Role
The successful candidate will be responsible for:
- Designing and delivering mechanical building services solutions from concept through to completion.
- Producing detailed layouts, specifications, and calculations using industry-standard software.
- Collaborating with electrical engineers, architects, contractors, and clients.
- Attending site visits, client meetings, and design team workshops.
Candidate Requirements
- Degree in Mechanical Engineering (or related discipline) or equivalent experience.
- Previous experience in mechanical building services design within a consultancy environment.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit, or IES.
- Ideally Senior/Principal level with management experience.
- Strong knowledge of UK building regulations and industry standards.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to manage multiple projects.
