Human Factors Engineer – Royal Leamington Spa – Excellent Salary and Benefits

I am currently hiring for a Human Factors Engineer for a key client of mine based in Royal Leamington Spa.

My client is a well-established UK-based product development company, renowned for delivering innovative and user-centred design solutions across sectors such as healthcare, transport, consumer products, and industrial systems.

Due to continued growth and a strong pipeline of upcoming projects, they are now looking to appoint a Human Factors Engineer on a permanent basis.
In this role, you’ll work alongside internal design, engineering, and strategy teams to ensure that user needs are at the heart of product development. You’ll have the opportunity to contribute to – and in some cases lead – human factors activities across a wide range of impactful projects, from medical devices to transport systems.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and deliver human factors research activities, including user interviews, contextual observations, and usability evaluations.
  • Work closely with multidisciplinary teams to interpret user needs and translate insights into practical, user-centred design solutions.
  • Contribute to product development at all stages, from early concept through to final launch, ensuring alignment with usability and regulatory requirements.
  • Present research outcomes and design recommendations clearly and confidently to both internal stakeholders and clients.
  • Champion user-centred thinking throughout the development lifecycle, promoting best practices in human factors and usability.
Essential Skills:
  • A degree (BSc, MSc, or PhD) in Human Factors, Ergonomics, User-Centred Design, or a closely related discipline.
  • Practical experience applying human factors methods within a product development environment.
  • Skilled in designing, planning, and conducting user research and usability testing.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present complex ideas effectively.
  • Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines.
Desirable Skills:
  • Demonstrated ability to lead human factors activities within cross-functional project teams.
  • Experience working in a creative setting, such as a product design firm or in-house design department.
  • Knowledge of medical device development and familiarity with relevant standards (e.g. FDA human factors guidance, IEC 62366, MDR).
  • Exposure to highly regulated industries such as transportation, healthcare, or energy.
  • Active membership or working towards membership with a recognised professional body (e.g. CIEHF, HFES).
  • Additional technical expertise in areas such as engineering, industrial design, or product development.
This is a rare and exciting opportunity for a Human Factors Engineer to join a forward-thinking company with a diverse and meaningful project portfolio. You’ll be supported by experts, encouraged to grow your career, and play a key role in shaping product experiences that truly improve lives.

This is an immediate requirement, so if you have the required skills and experience, please get in touch ASAP with an up-to-date copy of your CV. If you have any questions, please contact josh@elastic-ltd.com .
